Monica WhyteMonica Whyte is a Liberal Democrat Councillor for the Hornsey Ward, Haringey. She ran the ward campaign in 2006, winning this key marginal ward with a 18% swing from Labour. She is currently the Whip of the 26 strong Lib Dem group.
Monica is a proven campaigner. In Haringey, she continues to be a key member of the campaign team following the successful role she played in the 2005 Hornsey & Wood Green general election and the 2006 local elections. Monica is also a regular helper at by elections, leading teams of Haringey campaigners to these areas. In this year alone she has been to Bromley, Redbridge, Harrow, Camden, Barnet, Westminster and Southall. Monica is currently the membership secretary for the Haringey Local Party. As part of her responsibilities she produces regular newsletter and email up-dates to over 400 members and 1,200 supporters. This ensures that everyone feels motivated and involved. As well as being a Lib Dem activist and councillor, Monica has been a practising barrister for the last 10 years, currently practising from a set of Chambers in Bedford Row.
